Grand Prize

Your story will be made into a limited series or graphic novel and published by Scout Comics a leading indie publisher.

The Grand Prize-winning property will be optioned for film and television by one or more of our production company sponsors and put into active development.

Grand Prize winner receives a custom 'gold-label' CGC graded copy of their first issue as well as 100 individual copies of their work.
All top finalists will be read by our judging panel of leading industry professionals from film, television and comics.
All prize winners who have their work made into comics or graphic novels will share in the profits of the published properties and receive at least WGA minimum (teleplay or screenplay depending) if their property is produced for film or television.
All winners will also receive a framed page of original art from their book signed by the artist.

Producer of THE FOUNDER starring Michael Keaton and co-creator of History Channel's KNIGHTFALL. The season finale of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories reboot on Apple+ was based on Handfield's comic THE RIFT.
Elgin James - Showrunner
Showrunner and Co-Creator of Mayans MC on FX, writer and director of Sundance Film LITTLE BIRDS and LOWRIDERS for Imagine Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
Tim Zajaros - Armory Films
Producer of Academy and Golden Globe nominated film MUDBOUND, critic favorite PEANUT BUTTER FALCON and ARCTIC starring Mads Mikkelson.
Josh McLaughlin - Wink Pictures
As former President of Focus Features, Josh worked on films such as ATOMIC BLONDE, BLACKKKLANSMAN, and Academy and Golden Globe-winning THEORY OF EVERYTHING.
Jon Levin - Fourward
Jon Levin, President of Film and TV at Fourward, spent 30+ years at CAA, packaging such films as MIDNIGHT RUN, HOOK, UNBROKEN, HOSTILES, MRS. DOUBTFIRE, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, SHREK, CORALINE and WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE and has been Executive Producer of Oscar-nominated THE BREADWINNER and Disney Plus+’s STARGIRL; Co-Executive Producer of MARSHALL, THE CHAPERONE and EATING ANIMALS.
Adhrucia Apana - Curiosity Ent.
Adhrucia is a Producer and Executive Producer. Her credits include CAPONE starring Tom Hardy and directed by Josh Trank; the upcoming films NEEDLE IN A TIMESTACK directed by John Ridley, and HARRY HAFT, starring Ben Foster directed by Barry Levinson.
Lauren Vilchik - Tonic Films
Lauren produced the hit horror franchise CABIN FEVER, and is the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Pop Mhan - Comic Book Artist
Pop Mhan is best known for his work on adaptations of HE-MAN, GEARS OF WAR, BATGIRL and the Dark Horse series SPYBOY. Recent projects include THE FLASH, INJUSTICE: GROUND ZERO and RAVEN: DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS for DC and ASTONISHER for Lion Forge.
Tony Bui - Filmmaker
Tony won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for his film THREE SEASONS starring Harvey Keitel. He produced GREEN DRAGON starring Patrick Swayze and directed the TV pilot THE THROWAWAYS for Sony Crackle.

How compelling and unique are your characters.
4. Theme
The universal message your story conveys.
5. Dialogue
Unique voices, buried subtext, real emotion.
6. Market Appeal
Commercial potential and audience demand.
7. Pacing
The timing of plot and character development.
8. Structure
Does your story have a satisfying beginning, middle and end.
9. Presentation
The style and format with which your story is on the page.
10. Emotion
Does your story make people feel something. Good, bad or ugly.
Sean Sorensen - Producer
Sean Sorensen founded Royal Viking Entertainment in 2014 and has over three dozen feature and television projects set up around town. He produced MAYHEM, BLACK AND BLUE, and WORTH that premiered at Sundance in January 2020.
James Haick III - Scout Comics
James Haick III, is President of Scout Comics and the writer/creator of SOLAR FLARE, THE MALL, & LONG LIVE PRO WRESTLING, & THIRD WAVE 99. He also heads Scout’s marketing division, web store and new headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida.
Trevor Engelson - Manager/EP
Engelson is EP of SNOWFALL on FX and the series adaptation of HEATHERS for Paramount TV. His client list is associated with 3.6 billion of box office.
