In 2020 we launched with 4 prizes, with a guarantee one script would be made into a limited series or graphic novel and one script would be made into a one-shot comic. We ended up awarding six prizes, with plans to make most, if not all of those winning scripts into a comic book! In 2023, Script2Comic we hope to see even more winners made into comics!

Jonathan Kadin - KadinCreative
Prior to launching KadinCreative in 2019, Jonathan was a motion picture studio executive for 20 years at Sony’s Columbia Pictures label. During this time he rose up the ranks to Executive Vice President and oversaw over 30 films, including successful hits like the recent release of Bad Boys For Life, as well as the 21 Jump Street franchise, acclaimed comedies such as Superbad and Step Brothers, and the Academy Award best picture nominee, Moneyball.

Erik Feig - PICTURESTART
Erik Feig is the founder and CEO of PICTURESTART, a media company specializing in premium Discovery of Voice content for worldwide engagement across all platforms. Since PICTURESTART launched in 2019, Erik has produced a diverse slate of projects, including Sundance Audience Award winner, Cha Cha Real Smooth directed by Cooper Raiff, starring Dakota Johnson; Luckiest Girl Alive with Mila Kunis and directed by Mike Barker, based on Jessica Knoll’s NYTimes best-selling novel; Sharper directed by Ben Caron and starring Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan and Justice Smith; raunchy comedy Strays voiced by Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx, directed by Josh Greenbaum; and Borderlands, the ambitious video game adaptation starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black, directed by Eli Roth.
Prior to founding PICTURESTART, Erik was one of the founding partners of Summit Entertainment which became the most successful independent film studio of all time, and then served as co-president of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group when Summit was acquired by them. He has produced, supervised or originated the production of over 100 films ranging from Step Up, Twilight, and Hunger Games series to Academy Award-winning films including La La Land and The Hurt Locker, and his films have collectively grossed over $13BN at the box office.

Lezlie Wills - The SpringHill Co
Lezlie oversees scripted television for The SpringHill Co., known for TOP BOY (Netflix), SELF MADE (Netflix) and THE CROSSOVER (Disney+). Prior to SpringHill, she worked at Get Lifted Film Co., Viacom, Good Universe and Overbrook. Lezlie also produced Lionsgate's supernatural thriller, ANTEBELLUM, starring Janelle Monae. She is a native of Los Angeles and an alumna of Spelman College.

David Bowles - Chispa Comics
David Bowles is an award-winning author and translator from South Texas. Among his many works are the graphic novel series TALES OF THE FEATHERED SERPENT and CLOCKWORK CURANDERA. David is also the co-editor-in-chief of Chispa, the Latinx imprint of Scout Comics.

Jon Levin - Sustainable Imagination
Jon Levin, President of Film and TV at Fourward, spent 30+ years at CAA, packaging such films as MIDNIGHT RUN, HOOK, UNBROKEN, HOSTILES, MRS. DOUBTFIRE, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, SHREK, CORALINE and WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE and has been Executive Producer of Oscar-nominated THE BREADWINNER and Disney Plus+’s STARGIRL; Co-Executive Producer of MARSHALL, THE CHAPERONE and EATING ANIMALS.

Josh McLaughlin - Wink Pictures
As former President of Focus Features, Josh worked on films such as ATOMIC BLONDE, BLACKKKLANSMAN, and Academy and Golden Globe-winning THEORY OF EVERYTHING.

Patrick Newman - Mosaic
Patrick Newman is a Literary Manager at Mosaic, a management and production company based in Beverly Hills, CA. He represents a wide variety of writers, producers, directors, animators, video game developers, and comic book creators. Previously he worked at Broadway Video after graduating from Wesleyan University.

Adrian Askarieh - Prime Universe Films
Adrian Askarieh established Prime Universe Films, Inc with a vision to develop and produce high concept feature films based on established video game and comic book IP. Adrian was instrumental in setting up hit video game franchise HITMAN at 20th Century Fox and the KANE & LYNCH game franchise with Lionsgate. Prime Universe has a First Look deal with Constantin Film (RESIDENT EVIL franchise) and adapting JUST CAUSE together with Derek Koldsted (JOHN WICK).

Lauren Vilchik - Tonic Films
Lauren produced the hit horror franchise CABIN FEVER, and is the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Tony Bui - Filmmaker
Tony won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for his film THREE SEASONS starring Harvey Keitel. He produced GREEN DRAGON starring Patrick Swayze and directed the TV pilot THE THROWAWAYS for Sony Crackle.

Jamie Iracleanos - Executive
Jamie has developed many comic book adaptations such as DOOM PATROL and SWAMP THING and has produced animation (TRANSFORMERS: THE PRIME WARS) unscripted (COMIC BOOK MEN, HOGAN KNOWS BEST) and documentaries for Disney and DC Entertainment (DC SPOTLIGHT: SHAZAM! and AQUAMAN)

James Haick - Scout Comics
James Haick III is President of Scout Comics and the writer/creator of SOLAR FLARE, THE MALL, & LONG LIVE PRO WRESTLING, & THIRD WAVE 99. He also heads Scout’s business operations, web store and retail outlet in Fort Myers, Florida.

The universal message your story conveys.

Unique voices, buried subtext, real emotion.
6. Market Appeal
Commercial potential and audience demand.
7. Pacing
The timing of plot and character development.
8. Structure
Does your story have a satisfying beginning, middle and end.
9. Presentation
The style and format with which your story is on the page.
10. Emotion
Does your story make people feel something. Good, bad or ugly.
