We are pleased to announce our winners for 2022. CGC® is our partner in designing and presenting the amazing award slabs that each of our winners will be receiving. GRAND PRIZE
DEATH'S ASSISTANT by Brian Gene White
After his fiancé is fatally injured, Phil makes a deal with Death to spare her life and ends up becoming Death's Assistant.
Brian Gene White is a writer, playwright, actor, director, and producer. Originally born in Chicago, he lived on both coasts and the Midwest before getting his BFA at the Conservatory Theatre Arts at Webster University. He is a company member of the Great River Shakespeare Festival and Ensemble Shakespeare Theatre. He eventually ended up working for the Emmy-Winning team at NASA/JPL (don't ask him how, he doesn't know either.) His play "Future Tripping" opened to rave reviews in Los Angeles while his screenplay “A Jersey Christmas Movie”, co-written with Laura Napoli, was a Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist. In addition, he has won the Fresh Voices Award, as well as finalist awards in ScreenCraft and more. As an actor, he has played Hamlet, Malvolio, a History Boy, Lou Costello and many others in his career while his plays and screenplays, usually dark fantastical and sci-fi dramedies, have received readings around the country.

BOT by Gregory B. Lemmons, J.D.
Robot sympathizer and detective Jesuit Swiss uncovers a conspiracy to illegally upgrade robots when he investigates the murder of a senator at a robot cat house.
Gregory B. Lemmons, J.D., is an American writer. A native of Oakland, California, he attended Columbia University in New York where he studied American history. He obtained a law degree from Santa Clara University in California. His work is as diverse as his interests, incorporating the historical, science fiction, manga / comics, and auto sports. A stylistic outlier, his storytelling leans towards the unconventional to the outright weird. He loves the craft.
2ND PRIZE
UNDEATHABLE DEAD DUDES by Winston Han
Two young dudes wake up undead and must solve the mysteries of their own murders and the coming zombie apocalypse before they rot away.
Winston Han is what happens when a Mongol horse lord breeds with a North Korean peasant. His immigrant parents told him, whatever you do, don’t be a WRITER. But did he listen? NO: instead he studied film and literature at UC San Diego, and then he became a writer and TV editor, working with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Tom Petty. Between gigs, he sharpens his craft and collects stories by way of adventure: hitchhiking across Europe, motorcycling through Southeast Asia and Latin America, otherwise disappointing his parents, who wanted a doctor, an opera singer, a Nobel-Prize-winning scientist, but preferably all the above.
3RD PRIZE
MISS DEMEANOR Ruby Mainieri
Once famous superhero, Little Miss Wonder, has been rebranded, Miss Demeanor, due to years of alcohol abuse and frequent sexual encounters with supervillains. Now, she must overcome her narcissism and hypochondria in order to help her crew and reclaim her place in the spotlight.
Ruby Mainieri is an award-winning screenwriter and actress specializing in trauma-dumping comedies. She won the Worldwide Play Festival, founded by David Letterman, and most recently won 'Best TV Pilot' at the Vail Film Festival. In addition, she was a finalist at The Big Apple Film Festival and The Nashville Film Festival in 2022. When she's not distracted by altercations with strangers on the NYC sidewalks, or subways, or restaurants, etc... you can find her pacing back and forth in the middle of the night, talking to characters in her head and creating new and exciting worlds.

WEEKEND WARRIORS by Danny Hogan
When a mysterious overnight event turns humanity into hordes of mindless violent drones, two hard-partying office rivals—still inebriated from the evening before—discover the drugs and alcohol in their systems are the very things preventing them from becoming infected. The only way to stay alive will be to party like it’s the end of the world. ZOMBIELAND meets OFFICE SPACE.
Danny Hogan is a scientist turned screenwriter and currently works as the Writer’s Assistant on the upcoming Amazon series, Clean Slate. Danny holds a B.S. from UCLA and an M.F.A. from Loyola Marymount University, where they won the school’s annual showcase for their writing. Danny went on to put their penchant for exploration, science, and all things uncharted to use by working as a story developer and producer for National Geographic TV and Discovery Channel before landing in the writers room of the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl. Danny has developed original material for Zoic Studios, Intrigue Entertainment, and Zero Gravity, and their work has been distinguished by numerous organizations including the Austin Film Festival, Screencraft, Launch Pad, and HRTS.
